new orage in rawhide
by Kevin Fenzi
Greetings.
I have updated orage in rawhide to 4.7.5.16
This version now uses the system version of libical instead of it's own
bundled version. It seems to work fine here, but more testing would be
great.
If all looks ok after a while I will probably push this for f14 and
el6. Then if that looks good, el5.
I would like to get rid of the bundled library where possible... it's
been working fine here for a week or two.

Using desktop notification without gnome's notification-daemon
by Suvayu Ali
Hi,
I am using xfce4-notifyd for desktop notification. I have turned off
gnome's notification-daemon as per this,
http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/xfce/2010-June/000139.html
Now my question is, I want to use notification using notify-send. But
when I execute something like this on the terminal,
$ notify-send "Msg" "body"
I don't see any notification on the desktop. Does anyone know why? Does
notify-send work only with gnome's notification-daemon? If so, what is
the corresponding command for xfce4-notifyd.
My intention is to call these notifications from the terminal to notify
me when my jobs finish. Thanks a lot for any suggestions.

[Fwd: [Test-Announce] Fedora 14 Alpha RC2 Available Now!]
by Adam Williamson
Hi, everyone - the second Alpha RC is now available. We're fairly sure
this one is actually installable. :)
Please note that we don't have live images that are really testable as
equivalents to rc2 yet, because quite a lot of packages which were
cherry-picked for rc2 have not been approved as updates yet and so are
not being included in live composes. So for now I'm afraid you can only
do the desktop testing by installing from the DVD and selecting the
appropriate package set manually.
