F16xfce incredibly slow
by Beartooth
What would make F16xfce slower than cold molasses, on a machine
where F14gnome kept up normal speed? Firefox is not running, nor is Opera.

Do you have this problem with other sites too?

It looks to me more like a bug in the openjdk plugin. You should file it against the package openjdk instead of Midori.
You could also take a look to the following two sites to test and get more information about a right java installation.

How do I set Xfce as my gdm default?
by Todd And Margo Chester
Hi All,
I just set up a computer with Scientific Linux 6.1, using
the default "Workstation". Then I installed Xfce.
Question, how do I change my gdm default from gnome to Xfce?
/etc/gdm/custom.conf
[daemon]
DefaultSession=xfce.desktop
Does not work. What am I doing wrong?
Many thanks,
-T

Gigolo <--> thunar (F16+)
by Frank Murphy
Is it possible to get greater integration
between thunar gigolo.
Is is possible to get Thunar to show nfs mounts when network is clicked
or to show gigolo bookmarks.
Or which upstream would be the best direction to ask?

Missing dependency systemd-sysv?
by Heiko Adams
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA256
Hi,
I've installed Fedora 16 from the live cd some weeks ago. Today I ran
a "yum check" and it told me for several packages - at least
NetworkManager - that they need the systemd-sysv package, which wasn't
installed yet. After installing systemd-sysv all errors are gone.
So is systemd-sysv missing on the live cd or how could this happen?

What do you use to burn ISOs?
by Todd And Margo Chester
Hi All,
SL 6.1 x64
I am unable to cut a good DVD ISO (based on bad md5sums)
with the wildly out of date k3b that come with Scientific
Linux 6.1. (CD ISOs cut okay.)
And, there is no RPM for xfburn.
What do you use?
Many thanks,
