Cannot set Xfce as default gui on Fedora 20 startup.

I installed Fedora 20 a while ago and now decided to install and test Xfce
ui.
I installed it using the command
sudo yum groups install "Xfce Desktop"
I then installed the switchdesktop utility using
sudo yum install switchdesk-gui
I configured switchdesktop to start with xfce and after saving i get the
message
Your desktop configuration has successfully been updated, but you must
restart the X Window System for the changes to take effect
I then restarted my system "sudo yum shutdown now" expecting the new xfce
gui to startup. However nothing happened and the usual gnome showed up.
I then logged in as su and did init 3
I then launched xfce from usr/bin/startxfce4 which did launch xfce.
Now how can I make my fedora 20 system start with xfce ?

Xfce does not show standard Fedora or gnome icons as replacements for missing oxygen icons

Hi,
I did some testing with the oxygen icons theme, commonly designed to be
used in or with KDE/Qt. I can imagine a general issue here with inter-
opability between the different desktop environments. So there should
be a general functionality to support incomplete themes like oxygen
seems to be when used in Xfce.
When oxygen icons are used in Xfce, some buttons, starters or menu
entries loose their icons. As it turns out, hat's due to a configuration
issue in the index.theme file. It seems to be related to a common
conflict between both themes gnome and hicolor, from both normally gets
inherited in gtk theming. But we have a KDE theme here …

There are some ideas how we can work around or maybe do a good fix:
1.) The quick and dirty hack:
sed -i s-hicolor-Fedora,hicolor- /usr/share/icons/oxygen/index.theme
2.) We can not assume gnome or fedora-icon-theme is always present: one
approach here would be to add an explicit dep $somewhere, and then
also set that as gtk-fallback-icon-theme in xfsettingsd (suggestion by
rdieter via IRC discussion)
Note: Fedora theme or gnome themes aren't enforced by any normally
installed standard package.

I am planning to start writing some of these appdata files as I am
able to (unless upstream already has one). If anyone has written one
of these, I would appreciate it if you can pass it along.

Catfish desktop file

playing with the 21 beta and found a strange problem with Catfish. When the
locale is set to en_AU, which is Australian English, the title of Catfish
is shown in a non English font. There is an en_AU= name and comment line in
the desktop file for Catfish which is not needed. I suspect it is intended
for another language and the wrong locale descriptor has been used.
Should I open a bug report for this or is this handled some other way?

Live fc21 spin yet?

I have to remove an installation of SL 7 doe to it
not supporting 32 bit Wine (or any 32 bit apps) any
more. It is an absolute disaster!
Is there a Live CD/DVD spin of Xfce FC21 Beta out there yet?
And, can I use "dd" to create a Live Flash Drive?
