Re: xfdashboard and xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin
by Raphael Groner
Hi Kevin.
Yeah, go for it. How much space do they need additionally? I know that
xfdashboard is based on clutter, so this library should be available,
too.
In case of xfdashboard, we should provide a panel button (launcher) at
least to let an unexperienced user notice that great feature. Not sure
what to do about whisker (as alternative to legacy applications menu).

install to flash drive
by ToddAndMargo
Hi All,
I have been playing with "Fedora Live USB Creator".
I don't like the space limitations on the Live USB
drive as I am always wanting to install more than
will fit on /dev/vsd1
Just out of curiosity, could I boot from the Xfce Live
CD and install to a flash drive?
Many thanks,
-T

xfdashboard and xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin
by Kevin Fenzi
Shall we add xfdashboard and xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin to comps and thus
pull them into the Xfce live media?
I wouldn't want either enabled by default, but it might be nice to have
them on there in case...
Thoughts?

cryptic terminal/browser errors
by Beartooth
When I click on a link in my email (Alpine on F20, fully
updated), I get: "The history couldn't be loaded: attached databases must
use the same text encoding as main database."
That's with Midori as preferred browser.
With Qupzilla, the error message reads: "Failed to execute child
process "Qupzilla" (No such file or directory)." Similarly with Rekonq,
Seamonkey, and uzbl.
With Dillo, Epiphany, Konqueror, Firefox, Opera, Arora,
Kazehakase, Mosaic, or surf, as the preferred browser, the link works.
(Browsers not in the F20 repos (as of last time I looked) are not
installed; so I didn't test them.)

Re: Any persistent Xfce clipboard plugin?
by Raphael Groner
Hi,
http://goodies.xfce.org/projects/panel-plugins/xfce4-clipman-plugin
This is a simple cliboard history for Xfce panel. It includes a "Clear
clipboard" option, and a drag-and-drop paste feature.
ClipIt (fork of Parcellite) is also nice if you want to have the icon
in the systray area. There's also qlipper but it needs Qt, the other
three are running fine with Gtk.
Greetings,
Raphael

Any persistent Xfce clipboard plugin?
by ToddAndMargo
Hi All,
Is there an Xfce 4.8 plugin that will make the
clipboard persistent? By that I mean, not
having to keep the originating program open
after copying into the clipboard or it
won't paste.
Many thanks,

display question
by Beartooth
How do I tell fedora-xfce, once and for all, to display *all* the
subfolders, *including* the "hidden" dot-folders, every single last time
I open *any* folder, now and forever, world without end?
I'm in the midst of a dismal clean-up operation, and I'm going
nuts, having to re-set that setting all the time.

Re: display question
by Raphael Groner
Hi Beartooth,
you may find AUFS or UNIONFS to be useful. It's possible to use it as a
writable filesystem layer on top of your live image. You have to mount
it on boot over your /home volume. Or you install to some writable drive
(hard disk, usb stick, etc...) and change your settings persistently.
http://fixunix.com/redhat/528476-aufs-unionfs-fedora.html
I hope this helps.
Greetings,
Raphael
