Only base gnome-keyring functionality works outside of gnome (passwords),
the rest (like key management) is gnome-only on purpose.  Related bug,

If you want to have a working gnome-keyring in XFCE 4.10, you can check 'Launch GNOME services on startup" in "Startup and Session (Advanced)", it has been changed from earlier version of XFCE to only start gnome-keyring deamon and not all the services in /etc/xdg/autostart there has a 'OnlyShowIn=GNOME'.

I have only tested it for SSH key, there can be other stuff, not working as in Gnome.
