By the way, are there any hopes to get a better synchronisation
between gnome settings and MIME/XFCE ones in the future, or is it
yet another quirk of gconf ignoring the xdg-utils ? I am not
actually trying to find someone to blame for, I'm just curious.
AFAIK there was indeed improvement in rawhide recently.
gnome-default-application properties was obsoleted and will be replaced
by some pseudo-mime-types like "x-scheme-handler/http" or
"x-scheme-handler/mailto"in mimeapps.list. Xfce and GNOME should treat
them the same.
