In case Fedora xfce users are not aware, 4.14pre1 was officially released today.
In Fedora 30 testing repositories, you can find updates available for almost all of these packages (exo is already in stable).
I will keep these packages in testing for an extended period (autopush is disabled). Please test and add karma on bodhi. Please file bug reports as needed - either upstream or on fedora/RH bugzilla.
Thanks, Mukundan.

dnf upgrade --enablerepo=updates-testing *xf* thunar* tumbler exo garcon
sudo dnf upgrade --enablerepo=updates-testing *xf* thunar* tumbler exo garcon
should be better/safer (avoids confusion by local files)

I have run the updates for two weeks now and nothing went wrong. I will add positive karma once I find all the updates in bodhi. I used Miro/Dan's command to install them all since they are unfortunately not part of a single update/advisory.
Looking forward to 4.14!

This was intentional on my part. Since xfce components are modular, I wanted to update them independently if the need arose. Made sense to me. :)

I get it, I wasn't complaining, and I'm glad to see progress in this area.
While researching the updates I also came across one for xfce4-screensaver. All the problems I reported [1] appear to be fixed, although I did not keep track of them and don't know which update of what fixed "my" bugs. To be honest, despite the early bugs xfce4-screensaver has mostly stayed out of my way and is still a net benefit over xscreensaver, at least as far as I can tell.
I feel sorry for the people who got bit hard by the XFCE 4.13 update, while I have myself run into a couple bugs, none of them were show stoppers. I have yet to witness those bugs with 4.14pre1 so I hope it will make things better for everyone. From my limited experience with XFCE (again, it mostly stays out of my way) I would indeed push all those updates.

I believe these packages have lived in testing repo long enough.
I will be pushing them to stable in the coming days unless someone reports major issues.
Mukundan.
Hi Mukundan (and everyone else),
just as a heads up, in 2 weeks time we'll be releasing Xfce 4.14pre2, which will contain only bugfixes on top of pre1. In short: if you're going for pre1 now you should consider to immediately push pre2 when it's there to get all the bugfixes. Having said that, not all components may get new releases for pre2. We're currently planning that here: https://wiki.xfce.org/releng/4.14/xfce_4.14pre2
For pre1 I can at least mention one regression that we have already tackled around the display settings not remembering the setup (without saving a profile).
If you want to discuss these things more directly feel free to join #xfce-dev on freenode.
Cheers Simon

Thanks Simon. I plan to push pre2 to the testing repos as well.
