XFCE 4.12 on EPEL7

Hi all,

are there any plans on getting Xfce 4.12 on epel7 (e.g. copr repo)? I've
been able to mockchain build pretty much everything sans:

pragha-1.2.2-5.fc20.src.rpm (missing deps, more than one, haven't tried
yet rebuilding them all)

ristretto-0.8.0-1.fc23.src.rpm (missing deps for libappstream-glib
which is unbuildable on epel7: too old glib, but fails late in build
process)

libxfcegui4-4.10.0-7.el7.src.rpm
xfce4-timer-plugin-0.6.1-17.el7.centos.src.rpm
xfce4-radio-plugin-0.5.1-10.el7.centos.src.rpm
xfce4-quicklauncher-plugin-1.9.4-19.el7.centos.src.rpm
xfce4-cpufreq-plugin-1.0.0-11.el7.centos.src.rpm

Haven't tried the functionality though yet.

There are plans for me to start looking at setting up a copr for this
tomorrow :).

Ugh that is going to be painful then as libappstream was written only
recently and the glib it relies on is only recent. Why oh why oh why do
programmers do this.

All of the below would be dropped because they aren't supported by
XFCE-4.12.

after a brief look appdata isn't used anywhere in the code, only the
appdata.xml file is processed in the spec

I have 4.10 on a Scientific Linux (7 (EL7) virtual machine.
It frustrated to me no end as most of the panel plug ins
were missing.

Will 4.12 still be missing these?

It's in your xfdesktop spec, you have:

"Requires:›  gnome-backgrounds" (I have no idea what the "›" is there,
 but thats causing the problem.

rpm reads that as "Requires: ›" and "Requires: gnome-backgrounds" 
and the › blows up.

Ah, thanks!

I have no idea how on earth that character got there. I'm sure some
silly vim plugin or something, anyhoo. New builds in, I'll start
testing as soon as they are done.

Hi,

the second one is mine, mostly for my personal use, after the previous
repos disappeared. I'm trying to be as much complete and actual as
Fedora. FWIW the only issue I'm having is with light-locker -- after
unlock I cannot use keyboard until I switch windows...
