New Fedora Convert

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving to all thats here in the US!

I am new to Fedora... I tried F15 didnt like it and have always been a 
Ubuntu User... Booo I know

I have to say its SOOO EASY to run Fedora 19...  I thought Fedora was a 
hard OS and DE to use...

I do have to say though the front end manager is crap unfortunately.. 
The gpk-application program... When trying to install apps... I click on 
apply it acted like it was downloading firefox but went straight to the 
end and stretched way off my monitor.... and didnt install anything I 
had to use the YUM INSTALL command... Is there a better front end 
manager until I get use to commands? I am using XFCE spinoff.

also on updating..... Is it like Ubuntu's in place upgrade it will tell 
me there's a new version out and upgrade me to 20 or will I have to 
reinstall everything?

Yumex could be your friend. If you want to use a PackageKit based
frontend, just wait for Fedora 20 and install gnome-software.

No, just take a look at fedup, Fedora's upgrade utility.

Hello Heiko,

So YUMEX is sorta like Synaptic for .deb based distros?

So how do you remove apps though YUMEX just uncheck and apply in Ubuntu?

I use to sudo apt-get purge APPHERE
enter key
password
yes

You can use yum for that:

# yum remove APPHERE

Or:

# yum --help
