Hi !
I'm just yet another anonymous Fedora user. If possible, I'd like
to help testing this F15 release.
Cool. Welcome.
But before I expose my problems I would like to know if there is
a webpage listing commonly reported bugs for XFCE and their
status or a magic bugzilla button for this ? (AFAIK, there is
only
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2011-02-17_Xfce )
We do have a tracker bug.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=678916
and a blocker bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=678917
Things that block release or are nice to have for release depend on
those.
As for my experience in testing both the alpha.TC1 and the beta,
I've mostly noticed:
[known bugs]
* some applications are ugly (I presume they are Gtk+3 programs:
nm-applet, evince, …)
yeah.
* lack of a correct DM (LXDM is really awful with dual-screen and
I would gladly help you patch or test a replacement).
See thread earlier in this mailing list. ;)
* keyring is not automagicaly unlocked.
Make sure you check the 'run gnome-services on startup' checkbox in
session advanced.
[not so known bugs ?]
* some icons are missing in some menus. e.g. when right-clicking
on the desktop, icons for the sub-categories "Preferences",
"Development" and "Games" are missing. (and strangely, when
using the 'start here' button, default icons are provided for
these entries -_-)
Yeah, we still need to clean up all those.
* same problem with panel->Add new items. 4 icons are missing :(
Some of these should now be fixed.
* the systray is sometimes blinking. Does anyone notice the same
problem or is it due to an issue with my systray applications ?
The entire tray? I have not seen that here.
* streaming music or video over sftp is still not working with
parole.
Please file a bug on that. ;)
Otherwise, everything seems good. My ATI card is working
(including Xv and OpenGl!), Thunar-gio does the job, FF4 & webM
runs smoothly, xmonad is still stable and GHC 7.x wonderful.
Cool.
