The same happened to brightness slide control, provided by the power

This isn't the case with a default F26 install I just did today, but after
a full system update with 'dnf update', the problem started.
I probably should file a bug for this, but it's not clear to me which
component is the problem yet.

There is any existing Xfce bug
but it is actually a GTK
bug and there is a link to to the bug and the patch in that report. We just
need GTK3 to be updated in Fedora
