If you are a RHEL customer, you can just do
yum install java-1.5.0-ibm
from the Extras or Supplemental channel.
We've tested with 1.4 and 1.5 (ibm) and 1.7.0-icedtea in Fedora 8. We
have not tested with 1.6 and I've seen reports of problems with 1.6.
