Ok thanks for the info, no features I want in the new version so I can wait.

There is one more fix required for EL5 -

Then it will go to epel-testing.  The policy for EPEL is that a package must be tested and given karma points in the Fedora bodhi system in order for it to be pushed to Stable.  Otherwise, it takes at least two weeks before the system will allow a package to be pushed to Stable.

However, unless there is some feature of 1.2.10 you require, I would suggest not upgrading.
