You're not alone.  I'm one of those with burn out.  I'll tell you why
too.  We've had obviously poisonous people in our communities for years,
and as a project we seem to be unable to either convince them to spend
their energy elsewhere, or force the issue.  Instead we let them
continue to spew over our email lists, our bugzilla, our IRC channels,
etc...  It's quite frustrating, particularly when these people pick up
"followers" who think it's OK to keep doing crap like that.  I've yet to
see an effective policy or proposal on how to deal with this.  Show me a
candidate who has one, I'll vote for 'em.
