How have the Steering Committees made things better ?

Thats a good suggestion... I know some of the steering committees have
done so. It's a difficult one however as well, since it's hard to say
what "better" is all the time. Better than not having done anything at
all? 

I think retrospectives might be usefull, like we are doing for each
release now... note things that you thought could have been done better
and then they could be discussed when a new slate of people take office?
