What exactly are you envisioning when you say "endorse"?

The Fedora package maintainers should be sending the patches to the
upstream project already.  The goal (while not always feasible) is to carry
as few patches in the Fedora packages as possible.

fedorahosted.org is in place to host projects pertaining mostly to Fedora
itself.  It is not set up to host arbitrary projects, and certainly not meant
to host projects that already have an upstream host.  I'm slightly confused
why there would be a mirror between github and fedorahosted.org at all.
