It seems to do this.  See anaconda.git/pyanaconda/livecd.py:

        rootDevice.format.targetSize = rootDevice.size
        rootDevice.format.doResize(intf=anaconda.intf)

        # ensure we have a random UUID on the rootfs
        rootDevice.format.writeRandomUUID()
