Maybe this would make sense as a coordinated Change for Fedora 23?

done this before. Fedora 23's tentative schedule
<https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/23/Schedule> puts this a
timeframe of done by late July. If that seems too ambitious, you could
file a change for Fedora _24_, which will release _next_ May. 24
branches from 23 at the beginning of July, so work could begin then.
(Or, if it needs time to stabilize, it could perhaps be done in a Copr
and integrated when ready.)
