Actually what needs to happen is the releasenotes stuff needs to be renamed to
something more generic like extrafiles or whatnot. Really the methodology is
it looks for a list of file regexes in a list of packages you give it that
are in your tree and it extracts those files onto the root of the iso file
system and install tree. This can be used for not just release notes, but
for kickstart files, autorun files, whatever else you may want in the root.
