getting koji metadata from (or, failing that, into) packages

It strikes me as useful for a number of things to get the build tag and
SCM URL from an RPM without searching in koji. Is this currently
possible in some way I just don't know? If not, might it be something
we could add in the future (possibly including extending rpm)?
