Comment:

 So, the version of NetworkManager in Fedora 22 has some exciting
 improvements -- it can do a "configure and exit" mode, is much more
 modular (no mandatory bluetooth or model support), and uses the same
 lightweight dhcp client from systemd. Since that currently _already_
 understands ifcfg files, that's kind of my first inclination for F22.
