I'm with you, Warren. We still pay a very high price for the "RHEL / FC
forking miscommunication". This still impacts on community perceptions
as we could recently observe with the "end of Fedora Foundation".
If transparency is one of our core values, let's use it in our favor.
I'd say "...We DID some mistakes specially when communicating the end of
RHL, but we've learnt a lot from our mistakes. We now have committees,
communicators, finance specialists and other professionals working for
Fedora Project and its sub-projects. These people, allied with community
and Red Hat engineers, help us to better manage the projects on a
professional fashion..."
On a related note, last week I talked to a journalist from the 2nd
biggest daily newspaper in Brazil, who was very interested in the fact
that I (a non-tech guy) was working for Fedora Project. It might be
worth to promote this and get even more contributors to different
projects i.e. docs, trans, events, etc
