Problem beim installieren von evidence -- eine leidensgeschichte

Ich benutzt Enlightenment als X-WManager, und wollte mir nun noch 
evidence, einen Dateibrowser dazu installieren, Problem bei der ganzen 
sache ist, er braucht gtk+-2.0 nungut, da es das als .rpm nicht gibt, 
dachte ich mir, holst dir die source und compilierst selber, nächste 
Abhängigkeit "glib-2.4.0" hier gibt es leider nur die 1.2 als rpm... und 
wieder, ich holte mir die source, configure, make, make install, make 
clean.... aber, und nun das Problem, gtk+-2.0 und pango 1.4 finden das 
neu installierte glib-2.4.0 nicht.... das eine endet mit

ein whereis glib-2.0 ergibt "glib-2: /usr/local/lib/glib-2.0" also ist 
es da, und es IST version 2.4.0 ... langsam verzweifel ich hier, kann 
mir jemand sagen wo der Fehler liegt?
