The Fedora Account System doesn't send passwords via email IIRC. Maybe
you're thinking about the mail you received when you subscribed to the
list? It doesn't use usernames, only email addresses:

Certainly you're not in the design team group nor have applied for it in
the Fedora Accounts system, nor does your email appear to be associated
with any account in the system.
