3.9.92 - Gnome shell screen casts limited to 30 seconds?

Hi,

^ tells me that screen casts using the default gnome-shell recorder are
limited to 30 seconds? What purpose does this change serve? 

I mean, it's better to entirely remove this functionality if users are
going to have to install other software for this purpose any way.
