Sorry, enabled only for the purpose of device enumeration.

Enabling it still has the effect of disabling APM.

You probably want to load some of the ACPI modules:
/lib/modules/2.4.21-20.1.2024.2.1.nptl/kernel/drivers/acpi/ac.o
/lib/modules/2.4.21-20.1.2024.2.1.nptl/kernel/drivers/acpi/battery.o
/lib/modules/2.4.21-20.1.2024.2.1.nptl/kernel/drivers/acpi/button.o
/lib/modules/2.4.21-20.1.2024.2.1.nptl/kernel/drivers/acpi/fan.o
/lib/modules/2.4.21-20.1.2024.2.1.nptl/kernel/drivers/acpi/processor.o
/lib/modules/2.4.21-20.1.2024.2.1.nptl/kernel/drivers/acpi/thermal.o

In particular, I would expect that fan and thermal would be important
to you.
