Don't get me wrong. I haven't stated that KDE wasn't important. What I
mean is that, *as Fedora defaults to GNOME*, if Fedora had to provide
only 1 desktop it would be GNOME. More over, as CDs are not available in
stores anymore, you can guess that the majority of Fedora users will
have downloaded the isos through their broadband connection. I could be
very wrong though (I hope so :)). However, if I am wrong and most people
really don't have broadband connections, then i agree that it's better
to have CDs full of *alternative* packages  (as opposed to Fedora's
default packages).

There might well not be a "best" email client, but Fedora has to default
to one, even if there are good alternatives.

The question is more: do we want CDs full of alternative software or CDs
containing only the default apps ?
