fstab problem with mount

I tried that at the beginning. I re-ran the boot cycle with the
changes you suggested. Still no joy.

With the 'defaults' setting I log in from a user account as root

# mount /pub

... the files are visable and usable by the user as normal.

But boot still does not initialize the mount automatically.

stumped, any more ideas???
