1. Full legal name
Erik Sakala LaBianca

2. Country, City
Berrien Springs, MI, USA

3. Profession or Student status
Software Developer

4. Company or School
Interlink, Inc.

5. Your goals in the Fedora Project
* Which packages do you want to see published?
I'd like to see all the software I use on a regular basis included with
Fedora Core and Extras. The sore spots right now are amavisd, the
firebird database, rsnapshot, and an assortment of CPAN modules.

* Do you want to do QA?
Yes, if it means I don't have to maintain my own custom RPMS anymore :)

* Anything else special?
I'm particularly interested in seeing a user-friendly backup system
included out of the box with fedora. I've also done some work towards an
easy way of creating a kickstart from a modified running system. I think
ease of installation / restore is already a real selling point for
fedora, but it still needs some work.

6. Historical qualifications
* What other projects have you worked on in the past?
Primarily proprietary commercial software, and little unpublished hacks
to open source stuff. I maintain a suite of custom RPMS that we use to
kickstart install all our production servers.

* What computer languages and other skills do you know?
I'm a reasonably competent C++, Java and Delphi/Pascal programmer. I
also speak Perl well but am migrating to Python. I've written tons of
PHP code too but I'm trying to avoid doing it ever again.

I've been using Linux (Slackware, Debian, Redhat, Gentoo, Fedora) for
around 10 years, and have been a system administrator for both Windows
and Linux for the last 4 or so. I've also been the project manager and
system architect for several projects, so I have some useful
communication and problem solving skills.

* Why should we trust you?
Maybe you shouldn't? Wait and see. I have a longtime commitment to linux
and open source, and I have some useful skills.
