alternative official Fedora Core 1 install media iso images are now
available on bittorrent. Please take a look:

DVD ISO:

2 disk official install set:

These iso images are not being made available through the official
download server at this time, due to space and official mirroring policy
concerns. But they are official media images, so they can be
redistributed under the same conditions as the original 3 cd iso set.

The Yarrow-publisher 2 cd set, is intended for publishers who can only
fit 2 cds into their books. For example, the book Official Fedora
Companion by Nicholas Petreley, Red Hat Press. The release notes in the
Yarrow-publisher isos details what has been removed from the standard 3
cd collection.

UNOFFICIAL NOTE FROM JEF:
I'm now going to express my personal opinion that users should NOT
download the publisher-edition to use for installs. I would like to
encourage users to continue to use download and use the 3-cd set or the
new dvd iso image to ensure they get the full Fedora Core experience.
The Publisher-edition is being made available, for completeness, and I'm
sure some end-users out there might think the 2-cd set is a shortcut to
getting an an install up and going. But please I encourage you to take
the time to download the full 3-cd set instead or the dvd image to make
sure you get the best possible experience. If you do not have the
bandwidth to effectively download the full 3 cd set or the dvd image,
please take a look at http://fedora.redhat.com/download/vendors.html and
purchase inexpensive install media from the approved vendor list.

NOTE FOR THE -DEVEL LIST FROM JEF:
There has been some (un)healthy debate about on this list about slimming
Core down to 2 cds. And i want to express my $0.01 opinion that i don't
think the Publisher edition should be looked on as a solution to the
issue being debated. I don't think having 2 sets of cd images is really
a good idea..i think its a horrible idea actually. That being said, i
think its important to have the Publisher edition and the dvd edition
freely available for download, since vendors are using and selling these
editions, so i asked the Fedora leadership for them and I asked the
dulug bittorrent maintainer to host them, and now without any delay or
arguments at all they have been made available to the community.
