What I think he was asking was what functionality does Mono have that
makes it easier to develop in Mono rather than C or C++.

My answer to that question is that I believe there is nothing but Mono
being a Novell/Ximian developed env they are using Beagle (as well as
F-Spot and a couple of others) as a proof of concept to prove that its
a good platform etc. and also as a sort of if you want this you have
to also have this.
