DDC reports 34x27 cm^2 for my 17" TFT which is driven with a 1280x1024
resolution (96x96 dpi^2). More modern 19" TFT are even below this 96
dpi mark, and 21.3" TFT with 1600x1200 are <100dpi also. Bitmap fonts
for text-based application are perfect for the these resolutions.

Monitors with printer resolutions might be an argument from the marketing
people, but I do not need them.
