Would you mind sharing exactly what you had to do? Or perhaps open a bug

I'm not 100% sure of how runtime linking works, but if you look at a
binary like /usr/X11R6/bin/glxgears, it links to the Nvidia libraries
when they are installed through the package, like this:

[peter at localhost]~% ldd /usr/X11R6/bin/glxgears             => /usr/lib/nvidia/ (0x4a8b4000) => /usr/lib/nvidia/ (0x4a16d000) => /usr/lib/nvidia/tls/

This is accomplished by a file in /etc/ making libGL* load
from /usr/lib/nvidia/ first.

AFAIK there are no OpenGL applications in FC that don't pick up the
Nvidia when it's installed via the rpms.
