No, that isn't needed.  The java and javac alternatives cover this.  If
they point to java-1.4.2-gcj-compat and java-1.4.2-gcj-compat-devel ant
will run natively on a completely Free Software stack.  If they point to
a proprietary SDK then ant will run interpreted/JIT'ed on the non-free
JVM.
