That made me look around in /etc/sysconfig/networking a bit.
I was a bit surprised by the following:

-rw-r--r-- 3 root root 215 Feb 10
11:58 /etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-eth1
-rw-r--r-- 3 root root 215 Feb 10
11:58 /etc/sysconfig/networking/profiles/default/ifcfg-eth1
-rw-r--r-- 3 root root 215 Feb 10
11:58 /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1

This is the 'ls -l' output for the three files.
Why do we need the files in tree places, even if it's just links?

Is there documentation I should read to understand what is going on?

How are networking/profiles used?

Any pointers, please...

Cheers,
Remco
