also showed the ati driver, which was also described as for

system-config-display only showed 640x480 and 800x600.

And, the i810 driver description does not show i945G  ( I 
have another box with an i945 ).

So it looks like the hardware is correctly detected, but 
system-config-display may need some tune up.
