Tcl/Tk (in FC), with BLT/Tktable (in FE) for graphs/spreadsheet
tables, Vu extension for dials, tcllib (in FE) for HTTP, ....
These are completely cross-platform and free software. See moodss in
FE to get an idea about a GUI built with those.
