How to generate videoaliases/foo.xinf for hwdata?

yes, openchrome is based on what used to be the via xorg driver.

My understanding is openchrome will only claim a device if it's manually 
installed (obviously), and if the user invokes system-config-display 
again after that. Does this make sense ?
