Yippy kii yea! Now we're back to the old bust'em up.

On a fresh install of F8 (default install minus the "office and productivity" 
stuff) switching to the development repo and updating ~150 packages, I get a 
problem going to runlevel 5 (something about "x" respawning too fast) and no 
login screen. Runlevel 3 login and startx works.

replacing the gdm package that was in the update with the previously installed 
gdm fixed the problem.
