Nb: there's a fedora-audio-list, where a few people are working on similar 
things, complete with trying to get ffado working (and then packaged) for 
firewire audio devices. I know jackd is one of the parts involved, so there's 
definitely some synergy there (Fernando of CCRMA is definitely over on that 
list, not sure if he's over here).
