Actually the burden of proof isn't on anybody. The upstream maintainer
and / or the downstream maintainer can choose to adjust the default
setting. Period. No amount of noisy blabber on a mailing list will
remove that right.
Defaults change. If not, we'd all still be storing everything in /etc/.
The fact that we can make this change and have real world benefit makes
it all the nicer.
