This isn't even the worst case. One-line configure.ac changes can cause a
lot of these:
-  echo '#line 4652 "configure"' > conftest.$ac_ext
+  echo '#line 4888 "configure"' > conftest.$ac_ext
And one-line Makefile.am changes can cause changes all over the generated
Makefile.in files.
