what is needed for plymouth to boot with gfx?

Well, I assumed that /usr/libexec/plymouth/plymouth-update-initrd was
run on plymouth updates as %postinstall, but I was wrong. Running this
tool fixed everything.

Although, I still consider this a little bit unexpected behaviour.
