As already noted, KDE uses NetworkManager-gnome because the KDE
NetworkManager plasmoid is currently still, er, a little bit crap. I
imagine gstreamer-ffmpeg is pulled for video purposes, and we have
Phonon configured to use its gstreamer backend by default. No idea about
gedit, though.
