In particular, the package was broken down to sub-packages per library 
(see [1]).  I suspect that automatic SONAME-based dependency resolution 
should pick up the right sub-package for client package in question. 
The automatic adjustment should really be necessary only if the client 
package depends on "boost" by name, explicitly (but maybe that's simply 
all packages).  Rebuild is obviously still necessary.
