Please don't ;) It was on purpose.

If you want to use gpg2 instead of gpg you should be able to just create
a symlink from /usr/bin/gpg to /usr/bin/gpg2

The problem is that gpg2 is not a 100% replacement for gpg, and both are
now being maintained in parallel. For a while gpg2 was providing a
symlink from gpg to gpg2, but now that gpg has been revived it can't do
that without conflicting with the other package.
