>From what I can read on the web, Akonadi is supposed to work on NFS these 
days. If it doesn't work, it's either:
* some security framework blocking the access (I've found bug reports due to 
AppArmor in my search). On Fedora, the only possible offender would be 
SELinux. Please check for SELinux AVC denials in the logs and/or try 
disabling SELinux. But I don't think that's the issue.
* your NFS server being broken and not supporting the required 
functionality, in which case this is not a Fedora issue.

An easy workaround if you always use the same machine is to move 
.local/share/akonadi to some local directory and symlink it from the NFS 
home directory.
