Using fedora-packager-setup behind a proxy

Hi, 

Has someone used fedora-packager-setup behind a proxy successfully? 

I keep getting network connection failures even after I specify HTTP_PROXY or ALL_PROXY env vars. 
Google is also not giving good suggestions. Could you please suggest me any way to work around it?
