Even with a smiley,  you haven't really added anything useful to the
discussion.  -1 or -1 million makes no difference whatsoever.  The
maintainer making the change has listed out his rationale.  If you want to
present yours, feel free to do so (without breaking the thread
unnecessarily).   Anything else is just noise.
