I haven't actually.  The primary design goal was a reduction in I/O to
the physical disc.  The speed benefits are a welcomed side effect.  To
your point, I haven't yet quantitated them.  Would be a fun week-end
project to do actually.  I would love to hear suggestions as to best
accomplish it.
